CAFOD Memorial Mass in the Diocese of Wrexham with Bishop Peter Brignall.
St Mary’s Cathedral, Wrexham at 7pm
This will be preceded by soup and sandwiches at 5pm in the Cathedral Hall and a talk by Beth Brook, CAFOD London, to talk about her recent visit to Central America to CAFOD partners.
Refreshments will also be served after the service.
Caught up in the hectic whirl of modern life and under pressure to contain our emotions, it is not always easy to take time out to remember those we have loved and lost. Yet remembrance is important to us – as individuals, as a community and also as a society. We hope you will find this service to be a positive and comforting opportunity to celebrate and pray for the special individuals who have made us what we are but, sadly, are no longer with us.
CAFOD is, in itself, such a legacy. In 1960 the first Family Fast Day CAFOD was born out of four very special women’s determination to make a difference. With enormous passion, commitment and faith they inspired families and parishes up and down the land to raise vital funds for a mother and baby health clinic in Dominica. Two years later, the Bishop’s Conference recognised CAFOD as the Catholic community’s own agency to bring about lasting change in the lives of poor people in developing countries and to relieve their suffering during emergencies.
If you are unable to make it for 5pm for the talk, but are able to attend the Mass at 7pm please do come along.
