In celebration of Volunteers Week (1-12th June) we’d like to take the opportunity to thank all our volunteers for their help and hard work throughout the year.
Volunteers are an integral part of CAFOD and without them we could not continue to support our global brothers and sisters living in poverty.
There are over 5,000 CAFOD volunteers across England and Wales who help us throughout the year, from reading at mass and helping in the volunteer centre to working overseas as part of our Step into the Gap program.
Between them they give up over 120,000 hours of their free time!
New CAFOD School Volunteer, Clodagh Cherry made her first school visit to St Mary’s RC Primary School. Clodagh delivered a school assembly on the Year of Mercy, and a Refugee workshop to a class of Year 6 children.
Colette, CAFOD representative said, “I just want to say a massive thank you to all of the lovely CAFOD volunteers that I have met since I started in my role in October. Not only has everybody made me feel so welcome but they’ve really shown me how passionate parishioners in the Wrexham Diocese are about putting their faith in to action and helping those who need it most. I am really excited to continue meeting everybody in the area and seeing our work within the community excel.”
