Share the Journey Walk in Tywyn and Abergele

A big Thank You to the 12 members from St Theresa’s Church, Abergele and Christ the King Church, Tywyn who took part in a Share the Journey Walk around Pentre Mawr Park, Abergele. They walked approximately 10 miles adding an amazing 120 miles to our online totaliser!

Felicity Bryant, who organised the event, said “Despite the heat- I did enjoy the walk. We were really pleased people came from both churches. We had time to read the five stories of such courageous and genuine people and to say the prayer as we walked around the park. It was a positive action to fill our cards at the end of the afternoon.”

Here in the Wrexham Diocese we are walking in solidarity with refugees and migrants. By walking we are sending a powerful message to world leaders that they too need to step up and protect the rights of people on the move.

If you would like to organise a walk in your parish or community, use our organiser’s guide to help plan your walk. Take action on the refugee crisis and show your support for people forced to flee their homes.

Sign our petition asking the Prime Minister to ensure that the UK takes a lead during UN refugee negotiations and organise a solidarity walk in your parish or community.

By June 2018 we reached our initial goal of 24,900 miles – the distance around the world.
By July 2018 we managed to walk around the world a second time and are now on our third leg around the world!
