Holywell Share the Journey

Pope Francis asked us to show compassion to those who lost everything and desperate to find somewhere safe.

Holywell parishes have responded to this message by organising a Share the Journey walk with CAFOD. 20 people walked 2 miles through Halkyn Mountain to show their solidarity with refugees and migrants and to protect the human dignity of people on the move.

The campaign was a huge success in bringing the community together. Members of the community baked some cakes for everyone to share after the walk.
Kevin McIntyre who organised the event said “It was a great success, and beautiful weather for the walk too! Some people walked straight to Mass in St Winifred’s Well afterwards where the Share the Journey walk was the hot topic!”

Share the Journey invites you to walk in solidarity with refugees and migrants. Take action on the refugee crisis and show your support for people forced to flee their homes. Sign our petition asking the Prime Minister to ensure that the UK takes a lead during UN refugee negotiations and organise a solidarity walk in your parish or community.
